    Vineyards

Our vineyards are located in three key Bulgarian micro regions: Khan Krum, Novi Pazar and Veliki Preslav. The regions’ terroir bears grape varieties of distinct character. This is an area perfectly suited to the growing of white grapes. The terrain is complete with rolling slopes and hillsides at an altitude of 200 – 280 m.

Black forest soil and black carbonate soil are predominantly found in the region. This soil has a slightly grainy structure, especially when at a higher altitude, and is well aerated and warm with a РН of 6 – 6,5.

The sum of the average temperature during the growing season is 3600-3700 С, which combined with a long warm autumn ensures there is enough sugar concentration at a high content of total titratable acidity and a РН of 3,0 – 3,2. In addition, the annual rainfall in the area is about 650 dm3/m2, which guarantees a good physiological humidity.

Our vineyards grow grapes of some of the finest varieties like Traminer, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Blanc and Merlot amongst many others.

A GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN AN ESTATE.

The Sarba Odobesti Land, where the Sarba Winery is located, owned by the company Odobesti Vinex, is situated on the hills of the Subcarpathian Arch; its grapevines spread all the way to the forests of the Crãciuna Monastery and to the top of the Mãgura Odobestilor.

The excellent exposure to the sun East and South-East, conferred by its geographical position, the characteristics of the soil and the balanced humidity render the wines of this grapevine estate the most sublime product of nature and of man. The Sarba and the Galbenã de Odobesti varieties are the representative varieties that have adapted best on this blessed piece of land.

Galbenã de Odobesti, a noble grapevine variety, is a natural selection, untouched by man, that has been on this land since time immemorial. The ”Sarba” hill of the ”Mãgura Odobestilor” foothills offers the best pedoclimatic conditions for the growth of this variety.

The company Odobesti Vinex was founded back in 2002. By the year 2005, the company managed to meet all European standards for modern technology, with an over 1,000-ton of grapes processing capacity and stainless steel tanks and oak tree barrels for storing the wine.

The pride of the company is a den cellar dating back in the 18th century, completely restored, where over 3,000 hectoliters of premium wines are ageing in stainless steel tanks and oak tree barrels.

The specialists of the company are growing vine on 65 hectares of land and throughout the years they have managed to replant 35 hectares of young grapevine plantations with some of the most highly appreciated European and vernacular varieties, such as: Galbenã de Odobesti, Sarba, Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling de Rhin, Feteascã Regalã, Plavaie, Mustoasa de Maderat, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Feteascã Neagrã.

Since the autumn of 2012 we have been bottling the selected DOC-CMD and premium wines under the ”Blazon Domnesc” brand, the geographically identified wines under the

”Dinastie” brand and the wine of the house in 3-litre, 5-litre and 10-litre BIBs.
