Who are we? The biggest Romanian wine producer!  



The company was established in 1949,as the biggest wine processing company from Romania. Initially the company had to process the entire quantity of grapes harvested from the vineyards, spread on more than 26000 hectares that belongs to the state.


  Starting with 1989, the vineyards were given back to the former owners, and our company had to make huge financial efforts in order to ensure the grapes needed for the wine making process from its own resources.


  In 1999, the company become entirely private, and its main shareholder has decided to make it what it deserves to be: VINCON VRANCEA – the largest wine & spirits company from Romania.

  In order to do so, Mrs. Luchi Georgescu, the main shareholder of the company and Chairman of the Board, decided to start an impressive program that took into consideration two fundamental aspects: preserving the HERITAGE by procuring its own vineyards and modernising the processing and sales processes.


  Today, the company means simultaneously: More than 60 years of experience in wine making, more than 1500 hectares of vineyards planted with both Romanian and international varieties of noble grapes, 600 employees that put their PASSION into each drop of wine & spirit that reach our customers, a portfolio of wines & spirits of more than 120 products sold through all channels of distribution, both on Romanian and international wine market.






Our vine plantations are spread in the middle of the NATURE, that could be found under four notorious denomination of origin: HUSI, PANCIU, ODOBESTI and COTESTI.  From more than 1500 hectares of vine plantations split in 11 vine farms, we are harvesting grapes from 16 vine varieties, both Romanian and international ones, so we could say that God was generous with us and supported our development.


The main varieties of noble grapes cultivated in the region are:

White varieties: Riesling, Aligote, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay. Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Zghihara de Husi, Sarba, Galbena de Odobesti, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala , Tamaioasa Romaneasca and Grasa (the last 7 are of Romanian origin);

Rose varieties: Busuioaca de Bohotin – a native Romanian grape variety


Red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Feteasca Neagra (the last one is a native Romanian variety).






Our wine-makers from 10 wine cellars, spread in HUSI, PANCIU, ODOBESTI and COTESTI have joined efforts in order to exploit the maximum potential of the grapes, that is why we are able to offer our clients a large variety of TOP QUALITY wines and spirits and therefore increase the notoriety of our products, our brands and of our company.

Quality control for all our wines is made together with our laboratory of analyses and in the same time, by applying the HACCP rules we have managed to obtain not only a top quality but a constant one for our clients.

Vincon is the company where traditional methods of wine-making, have been completed by the latest technologies in order to be able to confer an unique and special character for each product from our portfolio.


In this sense, a great help was the heritage of VINCON: An unique VINOTEQUE – BECIUL DOMNESC CELLAR and an unique place for ageing and maturing the wine distillates: PARADISE CELLAR.



BECIUL DOMNESC cellar  was built in the 14-th Century, during the reign of Ştefan cel Mare . Today, this Cellar is an UNESCO monument and at the same time,  a place where you can touch the Romanian history and you can assist to the wines metamorphosis process - from quality wines to perfect wines….


In this Unique professional VINOTEQUE from Romania, more than 100000 bottles of the wines dating since 1949 up to present,  are waiting in silence while time and dust helps them evolve from childhood to adulthood and then become the senior representatives of wine families. When opening such a wine bottle, you will feel that you have become a small part of time, of the history of this place, of the miracle that changes the wine inside in a master of pieces.


Let yourself feel the low temperature from this cellar, take a look at the walls  and remember that the kings that build it made the history of this nation, and none of them could be destroyed or defeated either by enemies or by time itself…


VINOTEQUE, COMOARA PIVNITEI and OENOTECA are three brands containing wines selected from this cellar.


       After making a selection of the most important wine companies in Vrancea region we end up with the following conclusions relevant for our research:

-         He best wines produced on Vrancea’s wineyards are white wines. They are also renowned for being some of the best white wines in Eastern Europe. Their uniqueness comes from the peculiarities of soil moisture, balanced and excellent sun exposure that provides geographic position make one grape liqueur highest acidity in the country.

-         There are produced white Varieties such as: Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Traminer, Romanian Tamaioasa, Italian Riesling, White Fetească, Fetească Royal

-         The red Varities Cabernet Sauvignon, Black Fetească, Merlot Pinot Noir, Black Babeasca

-         Romanian varieties :White Fetească, Fetească Royal, Black Babeasca, Black Feteasca, Serbian , Plavaia.

-         Historic dates : No chance of this unparalleled living here was produced in years "70" out of Tifesti first Romanian sparkling.

-         The wines produced in Vrancea county are  are known and appreciated each year representing an added value sparkling wine is produced by the method ASTI.

Local varieties

       Black Babeasca is a local variety, prevalent especially in vineyards in Moldova. Along Black Feteasca it is a “hero kind” which resisted completion of red varieties brought from abroad after the invasion of phylloxera. Wines made from the variety Black Babeasca are usually table wines with a vivid red color with bright shades, light and fruity with balanced acidity. In good years, the Black Babeasca can get wines that fall into the category of high quality wine.

    Black Feteasca is a local variety, cultivated since ancient times in the vineyards of Moldova. Variety of medium productions, quite picky with technology culture. Although not easily recognizable, wines made of Black Feteasca are full bodied, ample, soft and smooth, with a sweet discreet but very specific scent, suggesting the smell of dried plums and at the aged wines, lighter shades of cinnamon appear. It is a wine that lends itself well to maturation and aging, evolving nicely maturing in 2-3 years and 3-8 years of aging ship in bottle.

     Tamaioasa Romaneasca is a flavor variety, with very disputed origin, in our country is considered local in France it is known as Muscat Frontignan Blanc, in Bulgaria it is known as Tamianca.



      It is said that originally, the variety comes from ancient Greece, then it was spread in Eastern and Western Europe. The grapes are rich in flavor, which comes from terpene alcohol that is found in grape berry’s skins. The wine made of Tamaioasa Romaneasca is easily recognizable, with a strong floral aroma and characteristics.  With aging, the flavor changes its character, the wine gets olfactory nuances that suggest gaining comb honey scent. By its nature, Tamaioasa Romaneasca wine can’t be a cheap wine, being a weak productive variety which is picked later.
